The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Game of the Year

“We recently discovered a new pattern of cheats in action. This week, we performed a thorough gameplay data review of 10 million players and completed analysis of tens of millions of data logs. Through this exercise, we were able to identify over 100,000 instances of the new pattern related to use of cheat and now we have confirmed that it was clearly an attempt of compromising our g

But that’s the thing about The Game Awards – it’s the only award show we have. While it has it’s many flaws, there’s a germ of a great idea there. Celebrating great games, and the people who make and play them, what’s wrong with t

Now, in an interview with PCGamer, Kim and his translator Sammie Kang have stepped forward to further explain the comments many people viewed as unfair. Kim offered the clarification that the Fornite / PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds situation “is not about the Battle Royale mode itself,” and that Bluehole “never raised an issue” with other modes of similar kind. According to Kim, it’s entirely “about Epic Games,” which wasn’t really clear in the original press rele

If this project sees success, will we start to see other hero shooters like Overwatch attempt a battle royale mode, or as Chisam says, “battleground” style modes to compete with Paladins ? Maybe a year from now we will see an “Overwatch: Battlegrounds” and have the discussion of whether they are stealing from Paladi

The Game Awards recognizes and upholds creative and technical excellence in the global video game industry. As has been the case every year with The Game Awards, there’s been plenty of dissent and mocking on various social media platforms. Kurt Margenau, developer at Naughty Dog and co-direction on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (which itself is up for three awards) took to Twitter to lament the need for the Most Anticipated Game category, specifically The Last of Us Part II ’s nomination. Others have complained about certain games not getting a nomination, such as Yakuza 0, which has been shut out of the Awards complet

This particular decision was reached after PUBG Corp ran an extensive and comprehensive data review of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to find “new pattern” of cheating occurring with the game on PC. As seen in a Steam Community post regarding the matter, PUBG Corp isn’t taking the issue lightly, as it has stated that those who have been found taking part in exploiting the game will be “permanently banned in a single wa

Formerly hosted by Spike as The Spike Video Game Awards, Keighley went on to produce his own independent award ceremony. Each year since its inception in 2014, a slew of games from that year have been nominated for various categories, ranging from Best Shooter or Best Mobile Game, to the more coveted Developer of the Year, and of course Game of the Year. The games are selected by a secret panel of some sort, with the winners being at least partially voted on by the pub

Without a doubt, the popularity of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds continues to grow, as the title recently managed to reach over 3 million players on Xbox One just about a week ago. Of course, with such a huge pool of gamers flocking to the title, there are bound to be some rotten apples in the bunch, and the development team at PUBG Corp has confirmed just that by revealing its intentions to ban over 100,000 cheaters on the title’s PC vers

Margenau’s right, voting for the game won’t make it come any faster. What’s the point of that category anyway? A more accurate name may be “Upcoming Game with the Best Marketing.” Red Dead Redemption II is on there and all we’ve seen of it is a single teaser trailer. But you could make a similar argument for every category. Does anyone know what the qualifications are for Trending Gamer? The Best Esports Game category doesn’t contain a single game released in the year 2017, and speaking of eSports, there isn’t a single female nomination for Best Esports Player, Presented by Omen and

At the time of writing, Epic Games hasn’t responded to Bluehole’s original statement or these newly released comments. With pubg Guide recently crossing 10 million sales and Fortnite quickly rising to prominence, what remains abundantly clear is that many will continue offering their own thoughts on the situation, as it doesn’t seem it can be easily swept under the

Performance aside, PUBG is simply a bad “shooter” with an awful control scheme on Xbox. Reloading a weapon for instance in the heat of battle requires players to hold down the ‘X’ button instead of just pressing it quickly. Aiming down sites isn’t holding down the left trigger, it’s tapping it. Inexplicable, holding down the trigger instead just slightly tightens the crosshair (it does the same on PC). Sometimes it won’t even work unless it’s tapped perfectly. Getting in and out of vehicles are two separate buttons and if you want to pick up a specific item from a pile of loot on the ground or move mods from one weapon to another, you better hide yourself for a few minutes. PUBG does not work well on consoles at all in its current state and needs another year in the oven. Even the little things, like basic matchmaking problems with friends or typos in the menus, aren’t addressed. It’s the sloppiest award-winning game, and the poorest performing shooter we’ve seen on current generation conso
