I don’t think you can measure the number of people, only the number of “units” (copies) sold.
Publishing statistics don’t distinguish between “spiritual” and “religious” books. Sales of religious books have been very good in recent years, but in 2009 the New York Times reported that they had fallen by 10 percent to 247 million copies from 275 million copies.
