It Has Never Been Harder To Get Into Destiny

Even if the Orb mods turn out to be a great change, there’s still one more aspect of mod bloat that needs to change: acquiring mods. Unlocking mods in Destiny is wholly tied to RNG. If you are looking for a specific ammo finder mod, you’ll need to get lucky by decrypting Engrams or hope Ada-1 sells it one day. You shouldn’t bet on the latter, as Ada-1’s mod inventory has gotten so bloated that it can take multiple months before she sells what you need. Worse, she’s your only source of Charged with Light and Warmind Cell mods. If you want to make a Firepower grenade build or use Protective Light, you need to check her inventory every single day and hope she eventually sells it. Better hope you don’t miss it, or you’ll be waiting months for another chance.

Hunters are supposed to be Destiny’s take on space cowboys and bounty hunters, and the first Destiny reflected this well. Hunters had mobile Supers, a mix of ranged and utility melee abilities, and the Nightstalker’s Shadowshot Super doubled as excellent crowd control and Super regeneration for your team. When all else failed, you could also rely on invisibility to get yourself out of trouble.

This has been the experience of many Hunter mains for months now, but it has truly reached a fever pitch with the release of the Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack. Nerfs to dodge cooldowns, Duskfield Grenades, ability cooldowns in general , and the presence of debuff mods every season have made Hunters undesirable for most PvE content. It’s gotten so bad that some Hunter mains have been kicked from groups solely for their class of choice.

On top of all that, the catalyst lets you use your super to create a supercharged beam that competes with a lot of heavy weapons out there. That means despite it using special ammo, it can produce the DPS numbers of many heavy weapons out there. Any player that owns “Season of the Lost” should grab this quest A

We have all seen the big lady in the Elden Ring trailer, and with the game coming out so soon – avoiding any further delay, of course – it’s the most likely contender to eclipse Lady D. However, I don’t think it’s the (jumping) horse to bet on. Lady Dimitrescu did not become an icon merely because of her size. She has Big Lady Energy. That she’s nine feet still helps, but it’s not size alone. Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga , both five feet and change, exude Big Lady Energy. Nicole Kidman, five foot eleven but much more refined and withdrawn, does not.

The only remaining use for Hunters has been to inflict slow through their Revenant Super, activating an Artifact mod called Focusing Lens that stacks with other buffs. Sadly, Bungie removed this interaction with the 30th Anniversary Pack. That patch also nerfed both Hunter dodges in hopes of making the class ability less potent in the Crucible. While that was certainly achieved, it also nerfed Hunters in PvE. Specs like Bottom Tree Nightstalker were tuned around frequently dodging and using your melee, something you can’t do as frequently now unless you run The Sixth Coyote or Omnioculus. And if you’re a player that loved using Dragon’s Shadow or Wormhusk Crown, you can forget about using Gambler’s Dodge.

I could copy and paste a lot of what I wrote above for Catwoman here, except we don’t play as Catwoman in Gotham Knights and we don’t even know what she looks like. The problem with Catwoman is she’s too easy to oversexualise, moving way beyond mommy territory into simply becoming a plaything for straight men to ogle. Keep the faith.

Let’s say that you were a newer player and wanted to create a simple build that could tackle Master Nightfalls. Back during Forsaken, you’d equip your favorite Exotics and be just fine. Now, you need good Exotics and:

So how did we get to this point? Most community members have pointed to the Breach And Clear mod in Season of the Splicer, but I feel this slow descent into obsolescence started with the release of Shadowkeep. This expansion did two things:

I wouldn’t want to take anything away from the most hardcore Destiny 2 Leveling Guide 2 players that actually do spend all day every day in the game. They still deserve to be rewarded for their dedication, but those rewards already exist outside of Grandmaster Nightfalls. They have Triumphs to pursue, Master Raids, Trials of Osiris, and titles to earn. Grandmaster Nightfalls should be the hardest content to do, but they shouldn’t be gatekept behind a monotonous grind.

I have 930 hours in Destiny 2 on Steam, which doesn’t include the time I spent playing it on Battle.Net. I’m probably close to 1500 hours in the game, and I’ve never completed a Grandmaster Nightfall. Like many others, my clan loses interest every season when they reach 1340 and there’s nothing left to do but log on and grind. The gap between hitting the pinnacle cap and confidently running the Grandmaster Nightfalls is way too wide. It punishes players that are otherwise dedicated Destiny players, pushing them away and making them feel unworthy of the highest challenge simply because they value their time more than the game does. I would like to see better options for earning Artifact Power in the future, or at the very least, a lower level requirement for Grandmaster Nightfalls. I’ll play Destiny 2 every day as long as I have meaningful content to complete, but if you ask me to do bounties on the Moon every night for several weeks, I’m going to move on to other games.
